Whats up guys! Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my channel. My name is Joe and I'm an SEC football coach turned captain! I grew up in northeast Florida and have worked on charters and commercial fishing for 8 years, I've also spent a year working on a long range charter boat out of San Diego that did 7-16 day fishing trips down Baja, Mexico! I feel blessed to be able to share all my awesome experiences with you all!

Vertical Jigging and Slow Pitch

Jigging for bottom fish in Louisiana is one of my favorite ways to fish. There is something about dropping a jig down to the structure and waiting for that hard thump that keeps you coming back. Depending on where you are fishing, you can catch everything from red snapper and grouper to amberjack and other hard-fighting bottom dwellers. It is an exciting, versatile technique that puts you right in the action.
When I’m jigging for bottom fish, I like having a setup that can handle whatever decides to eat. That’s why I pair the Okuma Tesoro Lever Drag Reel with the Tesoro Jigging and Slow Pitch Rods. The reel gives me the power and drag control I need when a big fish tries to head back to the structure, while the rod provides the right action for working a jig and the backbone to turn fish. It’s a balanced setup that’s built for serious bottom fishing.

Live Bait Fishing

Live bait fishing off the Gulf Coast is one of my favorite ways to target tuna, snapper, grouper, and other hard-fighting species. It’s an intense fishery that can put a serious tax on your gear, especially when a big fish eats and heads straight for structure. That’s why I rely on Okuma Alijos and Makaira Lever Drag Reels, along with Tesoro Spinning Reels, paired with PCH Custom Rods. These setups give me the power, drag control, and versatility I need to put the pressure on and get these fish to the boat.
